IAFF Local 2819 proudly represents career firefighters and related personnel serving communities across Kitsap County, Washington. The Local is dedicated to protecting wages, hours, working conditions, and the safety of its members while fostering professionalism, solidarity, and public trust.
Formation & Who We Represent
Local 2819 grew from a strong tradition of organized fire service and is affiliated with the International Association of Firefighters (IAFF) and the Washington State Council of Firefighters. Today, Local 2819 continues to represent dedicated professionals serving with North Kitsap Fire & Rescue, Poulsbo Fire Department (Fire District 18), and other partner agencies that protect the people and property of Kitsap County.
Mission, Structure, and Membership
The mission of Local 2819 remains constant: to stand united in advocacy for fair labor agreements, safe working conditions, and excellence in emergency response. Through collective bargaining, peer support, and community involvement, the Local works to ensure its members can focus on what matters most, protecting the public and each other.
Community Work and the Benevolent Fund
Local 2819 plays an active role in the community through the Kitsap Firefighters Benevolent Fund, which provides aid to firefighters, their families, and community members facing hardship. Members regularly participate in parades, safety demonstrations, and charitable drives that strengthen the bond between firefighters and the communities they serve.
Training, Honor Guard, and Traditions
